Auditorium Testori - Palazzo Lombardia (Milan), Italy
Palazzo Lombardia is a modern architectural complex located in the Synergy-Rep district (Central Business District), northwest of Milan’s city center. Inaugurated in 2010, it serves as the headquarters of the Regional Government of Lombardy and includes a 39-story tower standing 161.3 meters tall, which remained the tallest skyscraper in Italy until 2011.
Designed by the firms Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, Caputo Partnership, and Sistema Duemila, it is notable for its sinuous glass and steel façade, inspired by the ridgelines of the Lombard landscape. In 2012, it was awarded the prize for Best European Skyscraper, recognizing its design, sustainability, and innovation. The curved low-rise structures surround Piazza Città di Lombardia, a pedestrian public space covered by a transparent canopy, often used for events, markets, and public gatherings.
On the 39th floor is the Belvedere, a panoramic viewpoint open to the public on designated days, offering spectacular views over Milan and, on clear days, all the way to the Alps.
