People and Policies as Enablers for Long-Term Resilience
This session will explore the key trends on human capital and policy development relevant to the manufacturing community. The digitalisation of manufacturing and increasing adoption of enabling technologies such AI is shaping the future of work increasing the need to prepare the workforce to drive resilient manufacturing. Furthermore, the wider policy and regulatory landscape must also be supportive to long term resilience. The session will discuss how government policies and stimulus can help the manufacturing sector to recover from downturns and reduce exposure to future disruptions. Inclusivity in manufacturing such as the role of women and young entrepreneurs will also be discussed as well as the role of competence centres in strengthening the capabilities of organisations.
